A novel in progress
Project Red Skies
Ena retired. Hung up her sword and got a cat. But she cannot rest until the job is done, and all signs point to trouble stirring once again. This time, though, her role may not be what she expects.
From chapter one
“Perched on a stool in her workroom, Ena let the last drop of dragonsbane fall into the last vial in the rack. She recapped the bottle, set her dropper on the old tin plate of tools, and leaned down to watch the reactions more closely. There were twelve vials in total, arranged in two rows of six in an old wooden rack. Theoretically, each pair should show the same reactions. They would not.”

About Emilie
Emilie Fenn writes fantastical stories and weird little drabbles, and often publishes them with a dachshound draped over her lap. She is currently working on her first to-be-published novel, which is code-named Project Red Skies.
She has previously made several attempts at other novels, and has finished two novel-length pieces of... varying quality. She calls them her 'training novels'.
You may see mention of several other novel ideas floating around - Project Mistfall is a fantasy trilogy set in a land shattered by misuse of magic, Project Starfreight is a sci-fi romance featuring terrible customers and just retribution, and Project Empathy is a paranormal psychological horror trilogy set in a magical university. They may happen, they may not, but they're always fun to play with.
